In this interview industry expert Thomas Winther Thøgersen explains why mobile payments are run of the mill in Denmark – and not quite yet in Switzerland.
Skips and jumps
The new AppSwitch facility from Paymit makes mobile shoppers happy. But what does it have to do with skipping and jumping?
Just imagine: you are shopping on your smartphone. So far, so good. Until it comes to paying. This is when you have to type in your card details – and you may well change your mind because it is far too much effort. With its new AppSwitch facility, Paymit has solved just this problem and makes life that bit easier for all smartphone shoppers.
This facility enables in-app payments to be made with one click – a skip and a jump:
- The customer makes a purchase in one app.
- For payment the customer chooses Paymit.
- The display automatically skips to the Paymit app where the payment is confirmed with a click.
- The display automatically jumps back to the original app, where the purchase is confirmed.
- A receipt is stored and archived in the Paymit app.
The facility is already live – and AppSwitch can be used for payments to merchants that offer Paymit as a means of payment in your app.
AppSwitch rocks this summer
One of Switzerland's largest festivals already opted for Paymit this summer: AppSwitch was used at the Rock Oz’Arènes festival, which took place in August 2016 in Avenches, and saved festival-goers waiting in line. In fact, the entire festival was cashless – with festival-goers able to load their virtual credit using AppSwitch instead of waiting at loading stations. So skip today from shopping without Paymit to shopping with Paymit.
